On the surface
I wish I could say that I saw this weeks or months ago but working on Microsoft is always secret after secret technology meetings. This was launched at the same time as the Wall Street Journal's Big D conference.
It's fricking sweet and I can't wait to get my hands on this and have a play let alone develop some stuff for it.

This is a Muff Cake
That is what it is called, it called out to me and puerile sense of humour in the coffee shop that I was in. So of course I had to buy one take a photo and post on this blog.

A golden draft
So after three years of going the One Show advertising festival while I lived in New York, I finally won a bloody pencil and a gold one at that for the Foster's spots.
Of course I wasn't there to pick it up or drink into the night like Simon, Chris, John and Mark where able to. I like to think that I did my part by not being able to go and guaranteeing our success.
Since I left Ogilvy I also get the pleasure of buying my own pencil to display on my shelf at work... I am going to because i might not win another of these in my career.

Michael's Mut
This is a dog, there are many dogs like this one, but this one is Michael's.
On Sunday we went to Berkley (it's in the East Bay) to celebrate the birthday of Michael who we work with. It's was damn hot (35 degrees in his back yard) but there was plenty of cold beer and wine, a good time was had by all and especially by me because his dogs who chased every ball I threw for them - and I threw a lot of balls.
I think I just want a dog.

Some work stuff part 1
When I was back in the UK last week a few people asked me what I was and have been working on, this is my response:
This is a little project that I got involved in towards the end so I can't claim the idea but I did help out on the execution.
It was written by Greg who I share my cubice with, it's quite long but worth the 7 minutes because it was directed by the great Christopher Guest and contains real movie stars.

it's gonna be awesome
According to the folks (and my friends) at the barbarian group it's gonna be awesome and to prove it they have just released this very very cool free iTunes visualizer called Magnetoshpere. It's beautiful and I suggest you download the beta, fire up iTunes, get a nice cuppa tea and watch it.

Americas odyssey
So this took me longer to write than I had hoped but I wanted to record what had happened to me when I went to Brazil and Canada couple of weeks ago.
So as you can see from the previous entry, I was in the airport waiting to fly to Miami to catch a connecting flight to Sao Paulo. Well that happened and I went to my two hour meeting, spent some quality time sleeping off the day of traveling and spent a hour or two walking around the hotel. Not the most ideal way to spend 24 hours in one of the worlds largest cities but those are the breaks.
the route I took - I'm not sure of the airmiles I racked up but it is a lot.
The most annoying part of my odyssey is the fact that I spent 1 day in a tropical location in a great hotel then had to spend 5 full days in far from ideal hotel in the middle of downtown Toronto on the last week of winter, you know the last painful week of before spring returns and all hope is restored and everyone is happy and not ready to slash their wrists.
So here are some photos of my change of view:
My view from the Grand Hyatt in Sao Paulo.
My view from the Sheraton in Toronto.
The weather change was quit shitty as you can see.
So from only one day in spent in sunny Sao Paulo I flew to the cold grey wintery metropolis that is Toronto to sort out my Visa so I could come back to San Francisco and finish my Americas Odyssey which of course happened.
