Back in NY

So I am back in New York but I am also back at work so I have no time to do anything apart from sleep and work. I have some great photos from the peeps in London and my family in Rutland and hopefully I get round to posting them as soon as I get a chance.

London life

Oldcoffeehouse-1

Me, Hannah, Miguel and Jim

It's good to be back, in fact it's great. I thought I wasn't really missing London but now being here with my friends I realise that I must have been.

Yesterday was a mammoth catching up with friends day. I had stayed the previous night with Tony, Nico and Amy up in Camden, north London. (Tony and Nico are off to Australia in 4 weeks). I then made my way to Canary Wharf to see all the folks who I know in the London office. Later on I caught up with the gang in the old faithful - The Old Coffee House on Beak Street in SOHO.

Update - Miguel sent me this amusing photo and I just had to post it.

Simple pleasures

I'm not sure if I ever vocalize one of my most treasured beliefs: The best things in life are the simple pleasures.

For example a deep warm bubble bath on a cold day.
Laying in my parents garden watching the swallows catch flying insects on a warm summer's day.

The list isn't that long but today I want it noted that I am adding to two simple pleasures to the list.

Baconsarnie
the humble yet divine bacon sandwich.

A bacon sandwich made in my parents kitchen. This delight must be made with fresh Baine's bread and thick english bacon (butcher's bacon is obviously preferred) hence the parent's kitchen as the bread must be still warm.

The second new entry is playing cards with my Grandad on his table, winning is optional which is good because I rarely do.

My little sister

Stevenkate

So it's all over, the wedding has happened and my sister has given up her maiden name and is now called Mrs Bun. Since I touched down on Wednesday time has rattled by at a pace that New York would be proud of and I can now look forward to stretching out and relaxing.

As you can guess the build up to Saturday was full of tension and nerves but with the support and love of the family (Kate's best friend Jenny became honorary Green for the week) my Father & sister managed to put on a great show and arrive at Ayston church on time.

Saturday was a lot of fun and a complete one off event: the day my little sister got married. Having woken up at 7am and then spent the rest of the day running around helping out when I was needed I was completely shattered and lost my voice from too much talking to my family who I don't see enough of.

I will now let the the pictures do the talking, click here to see the photos I have uploaded so far...
